Basics On Fulvic Acid Supplement

By Sharlene Fleming

Humic substances have been used for medical purposes for many centuries. Farmers were among the first people to discover that these substances had therapeutic properties. They used them to treat certain conditions in cows, pigs, chicken and dogs. Human beings got the same minerals by eating plants and enjoyed numerous benefits as a result. The modern trends in agricultural practice have resulted in destruction and erosion of these minerals leading widespread cases of deficiencies all over the world. Fulvic acid supplement has been developed in an attempt to solve this problem.

The acid is found in humic deposits in water and on land. It is formed by the numerous bacteria that decompose dead plant material. When harvested and extracted organically, the obtained substance is can be used to serve as a supplement. Care needs to be taken so as not to destroy chemically and heat sensitive elements. If they are destroyed, the bioavailability of the final product is markedly reduced.

A number of benefits of the supplements have already been identified and there is a chance that there exists many more. One of them is the potency against infective viruses. This is achieved by inhibiting the replication cycle particularly the attachment and fusion stages. Unable to replicate, the virus is eliminated from the body and the infection is brought under control.

Another important benefit is that of providing protective from radioactive substances. Uranium and plutonium are examples of radioactive substances that are harmful to the body. The acids can fortunately react with these substances and neutralize them. They convert them into metal complexes that can be excreted easily. Other toxic metals are chelated and eliminated in a similar manner.

These supplements are antioxidants and scavengers of free radicals. This is possible because of their ability to react with free unpaired electrons and radicles. The radicles are changed into new useful compounds or to waste which is excreted. If this does not happen, then there is a possibility of damage to the DNA of cells by the radicals. Toxins such as pesticides and herbicides are also changed into metal ions, broken down and excreted.

The minerals have a significant effect on the pH of the body. They raise the pH making it is less acidic. An alkaline environment is ideal for most metabolic reactions in the body. It is associated with high oxygen concentration which in turn inhibits growth of harmful anaerobic bacteria. The acidic pH is characterised by low oxygen levels which favor the growth of these organisms.

The minerals have a useful property of being able to reduce the surface tension of water around the cells. This greatly helps in the absorption of nutrients. It also leads to improved cell respiration, hydration and excretion of waste products. Another factor that leads to increased absorption of nutrients is the stability of the voltage across the cell membranes and the condition of electrical impulses between cells.

Interestingly, there are only particular types of humic deposits recommended for the extraction of fulvic acid supplement. The source has to be pure, raw, unpolluted and free from radiation. It should have a high bioavailability to facilitate absorption. Fresh water sources have better quality extracts than those from salty water.
