However, for children, getting one that is one size smaller than their regular shoe sizes is best. Since it is usual for participants in the sport to experience regular falling and colliding with other players, there will always be the tendency that the shoulders are the first to get injured. You also need to properly choose the kind of helmet you will use. It is actually the most important protective gear that you must choose. You will have to choose one with the best quality so that you can prevent yourself from experiencing major head traumas and injuries. Make sure that the fit is tight enough so that they do not easily fall off especially during a vital game that you will be having.

It is also important to properly choose the shin guards that you will be using. There are some that pick the type according to their specific position in their team. Defenders are usually the ones that have better quality of such. They also choose those that can protect the leg entirely to prevent excessive impact injuries when they are defending.

You also need the best elbow pads that you can find. However, you have to choose one in your right size so that they do not slip. There are those that have them customized for them especially those with large arms. Make sure that the grip is not tight that will cause restriction in the blood flow. This can affect your hold and grip on your stick if there is less blood flowing in your arms.

Lastly, you will have to choose the appropriate stick to use. Most players usually choose theirs based more on the preferences that they personally have. Since this gear can significantly affect your swing and the force of it, you should choose one more carefully. Choose a durable one that will not easily break as well.

Most of the time, players choose such items depending on durability and affordability. There are also those that focus more on the kind of material they are made. It would be best however that you consult with your coach or trainer on which gears would be best for you to use.

However, you will have to prioritize your safety over other considerations that you might have when choosing the right gear for you.
